Business and Theater Programs

The instruction cost for programs is determined by adding a base rate of $40 per hour of instruction to the cost of materials, materials preparation at $40 per hour, and mileage.  Payment is due in advance of program commencement.

The typical Business ESL program runs two hours, twice per week for eight weeks, producing an instruction cost of $1280.  Total material and mileage costs for such programs average $800, and initial and concluding evaluations of employee performance average $320.  At $2400, the cost of a full program provided by the Language Academy is approximately one-third the cost of a comparable program provided by one of the larger language institutions in San Diego.

The typical Theater Language program runs two hours, twice per week for four weeks, producing an instruction cost of $640.  Total material and mileage costs for such programs average $400.  For approximately $1000, your performance may provide the professional authenticity that is the result of correct language and dialect production.

Hourly rates are applied only when deemed necessary due to financial hardship or other extreme circumstances.  Hourly students are required to pay workshop fees, including deposit, but may be denied permission to participate in workshops if their instructor feels that an insufficient number of consecutive lessons has been taken prior to workshop dates.

Other costs may include, but are not limited to, books, copies, writing supplies, recording equipment, mileage cost, and location fees.
